Don't need to be a trainspotter to appreciate that (thank Christ). It's a great photo in any man's language.

I can see that's the 1724 Windsor and Eton Riverside service running late as usual...bloody London and South Western Railway, and I bet even then they weren't accepting Oyster cards. Bastards. Mind you, I expect they would have at least been able to find a Hat in tose days.

Gerry - Cheers, yes - there are some people who appreciate historical photographs that indeed aren't railway related and this one seems spookily dramatic.
