This is a simple treat that I can highly recommend to anyone anywhere. What you see here is a straight forward, but sumptious dessert that is refreshingly light and fluffy, tasty yet not overpowering and the textures of the two parts in the bowl compliment each other to perfection.
That's right folks - it's ice cream and sponge!
I like sponge, but then again I'm not allowed anything sharp. Aye fenk yeow...
But this is no ordinary sponge. It's the type available from a Chinese supermarket such as Wing Yip. It's very light but one slice is enough to give you the feeling of culinary satisfaction. The flavour is smooth, coffee flavour actually and far from sickly. A joy to ram down yer gob.
Now, couple this with ice cream. Woah, throw that Wall's rubbish away, it simply will not do. I used to love Wall's ice cream, specially the multi coloured stuff they did until recently ("summer fruits" flavour it was), but I think they banned it because of all the additives. Shame, 'cos it tasted fucking fantastic. So, what we have here instead of Wall's is la creme de la clotted creme from Asda's. We are talking richly smooth ice cream made with real Devonshire cream and Madagascan vanilla pods (part of their "Extra Special" brand, current offer: buy 2 x one litre tubs for £4 and no hydrogenated fat contained within). Kick arse!!!
And if you're really adventurous, top it off with some drink of ginseng extract (Wing Yip £1.09).
NEXT WEEK: I tell you how to ponce up pie 'n' mash.

No wonder you get headaches sweet-tooth man!
Thanks for the menu Deliaski, but what does one wash it down with?
Toilet Duck of course!
I admire a man who likes his pudding, but I have to say; "wot no chocolate?"
Liz. . Believe me Ist loves his chocolate alright (family basrs only do). Just not on Icecream. .
Like. . he hates cheese but loves Pizzas. . lol xchazza
Romo. . hi r r Isti sure iz z. If I dont fix breakfast for him and he is left to his own devices he'd have cake or chocolate.
Not like the rest of us reachin for the ceriel. lol thats isti for you.
Ps. .Want to know a secret
Apparently according to one of his mates.. When Isti was livin on his own he'd buy three fresh just baked cakes every morning on his way back home from nightshift. Have them for brekki. . .lol
Told me he could not resist the smell of them just baked that waffed through the air up his hooter. . .lol
RoMo - Any food will do just to stop me from getting headaches. Toilet Duck might take my mind off a headache if I were to drink enough of it.
Howesy - You've not been paying attention have you? Or did you think that ginseng drink was to be poured over the dessert? All the best against Wanderers tomorrow.
Liz - Ah, you see, coffee makes a good taste change from chocolate. Many people have choccy powder in their cappucinos but I think that's sacrilege. You will not need chocolate in this dessert. You will become a coffee-aholic.
Chazza - Firstly, my post-nightshift "Baker's Dozen" brekkies were far from secret. I'm not ashamed of my past cream donut and cola diet. I'd recommend that too!
Secondly, the items that I bought from the bakery at the time consisted of 1 x jam donut, 1 x cream finger (oo-er!) and 1 x granary brown bread roll. A fantastic combination with a mug of tea.
I don't mind if I have cake if you don't fix breakfast for me. It's something I've become accustomed to.
Isti. . .Wow. . .I was jokin
where has your sence of humour gone sweetheart? NO NEED TO BE SO SHIRTY lol. . . x x x
Ister - never ever drink Toilet Duck dear! Just inhale or snort like a true rockstar. ;-)
Chazza - Whatevah you say dearie.
RoMo - I wondered why they started giving away free straws with every purchase of Le Duck de Toilette. It's an offer you'll find only in Asda's.
Ister - it's the empty Bic biro's you've got to worry about...
Sorry, I thought the ginseng was for rubbing on your secret skin condition.
Yes, where HAS your sense of humour gone?
Wycombe cheated their way to the win, but the company was fantastic and the day sunny so twas okay.
Brentford lost?
Oh look...my sense of humour has just returned!
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!

facebook may be wierd, but there's an echo in here!
Mmm, simple but perfect :)
"simple but perfect".
Are you talking about Facebook members? It's a contradiction in terms and it doesn't apply to those lot. "Simple" will do.
