I love this post so much. I love that bedroom...and the 'decor'...and the fact that Tiny Tears looks on as she is usurped by a puppy that squeaks its intentions in your ear. And well...she could only squirt water out of her plastic eyes. My brother popped the eyes out of mine with a felt-tip pen. But I would have loved a Sooty or Sweep.
And the 'cortina' - I just love your outfits. They are so cute. Excellent stuff....more please.
Your shoes on that second one. They are just the cutest thing ever. And that purple divan!
And you wore a watch. Remember them?
These pictures have really made me smile.
Actually...I don't think that is a Tiny Tears..but I like to think it is.
I had a Sweep. His head was stuffed with sawdust and my enduring memory is having some sort of a tantrum about being made to have a nap in the middle of the day and screaming and throwing Sweep as hard as I could at my mum who shouted back and told me to 'cool off' before slamming the door! Never forgotten that - I can remember the dull thud of Sweep's head as he hit the doorframe and fell limply to the floor. That's how I got to know that his head was stuffed with sawdust. Poor Sweep. Sweet photo's by the way - love the cortina colours!
Molly - I don't think it was a Tiny Tears, just a plain porcelain doll.
Ah, the decor...from the 60's, I think. And it was probably my dad that did the decorating. It looks rather quaint now.
At that age I had no sense of fashion and neither did my mother (in fact, we still don't) who bought or made my clothes.
RoMo - The Cortina had the same tinge of beige that was found up and down the country on wallpaper that was displayed in many people's living rooms at the time.
I hope you gave Sweep a decent burial.
That story about RoMo is so funny and sweet. I can just imagine her doing that.
Cor...you don't live that far away from me matey.
What, sarf east London, Molly?
If you're gaining info from a site meter source, then they have been unreliable of late.
What is more worrying for RoMo is that Stac will be doing a course in Richmond!
Stac?
the old oirish rocker himself
what oirish rocker - sounds dreadful!
you know Stac of "anyway" fame.
Er - no - am I being thick?

You have already read it RoMo!
It's ok RoMo, we realise you're working long hours at the moment so we can't expect you to remember everything at the drop of a hat.
That 'Olive' avatar kills me...
I'm rather fond of Olive - "oh naaahow Arthur!"
Ohhh yeah! Sorry - I forgot it was HIM. Blimey - better keep me head down when I'm cruising through Richmond for the forseeable future!
Olive: Ooooaow Arrrrfahh! I carnt see. Where's me glasses. (crunch)
Arthur: Oh you stupid woman! That's your fault that is
Olive: Arrrfahh! Aoooaw!
Mum: Will you two pipe dahhhhn in there - what do you think this is a bloody doss-hahhse?"
I'm glad that I'm not the only bloke to keep some of my kid pics around. (Of me, I should clarify.)
Awww! Too cute!
Bravo, Istvanski.
