Coming soon, to a Blogspot near you...

From the devilishly starting date of 06-06-06, I shall be transferring the original "Mindless Ramblings of a Palace Fan" blogs to this site. The reasons for doing so are down to (and here's a possible clue of where the original blog was hosted) Rupert "Howling Mad" Murdoch's continuing thirst for global domination, and a general misuse of that particular site.
Yep, I'm talking about myspace.com. It's O.K, but it's also, well, a tad gimmicky shall we say? Who the hell wants 1267 friends (not that I ever had that many...and nor am I jealous of those that do...honest!) when the majority of those "friends" don't contact you and vice versa.
Initially, it first seemed to me to be a site for people who are out for self-gratification more than networking. Although not every myspace member falls within that catagory (in fact there's some jolly decent folk on there that simply use it for purposes of keeping in touch with others, amongst other things), and it's true, I have had a few giggles in passing the odd message / comment to and fro, but I really just want to write.
Myspace.com was convenient for me at the time, but it's the realisation that a proper home is needed for my ramblings, wether they are read or not. And although I'm not seeking any publishing deal (and by no means do I consider myself as some kind of "demon scribbler"), I find that blogging has turned out to be both theraputic and educational. Why should I put up with a site that is strictly not suited for blogging?
I thought that this would be a better host for yer actual blogs de facto in that this has more writer based facilities that exist for the purpose of obtaining a more finished and complete product. Out of all the blog hosts that I have looked at, this seems to be near enough spot-on for writers and readers.
The first posts that you will be reading will actually be transferred posts from entries that were all written in the recent month of May 2006. What will they be about? Just you wait and see.
England expects.
