Coffee Republic (not Starbucks - it sticks to your teeth) and Sushi

We weren't going to get conned. Why go out on Valentine's day for a meal when everything was going to be fully booked and over-priced? It was much more sensible that we headed off for Bluewater shopping arcade the day before to yet again sample the delights of Yo! Sushi (the MacDonalds of the raw fish fast food restaurant that, contrary to popular opinion, is not owned and over-seen by Japanese folk, but by some Greek chap. I think.)

We'd been here a few times before as it was the only sushi bar we knew of that had easy parking. We really could do with a sushi bar in Croydon instead of the countless noodle bars that have invaded this part of London. Anyhow the meal was nice (don't ask me the names of all the individual dishes we had, but most of them tasted quite nice - especially the one with the tiger prawns in them).

After loafing around for the rest of the week, it was time to pay another visit to Selhurst Park to see Steve Bruce's dis-jointed hooter hovering over a wry smile as the boys from Brum did us to the tune of 1 - 0 to them. Sorry Howesy, Paul Ifill tried his best but it just weren't good enough. After that it was straight up to Chelmsford for a houseparty (which was nice), and Sunday was partly spent in a pub in the picturesque village of Writtle, where I seriously thought of buying a retirement home...until I saw the prices in an estate agent's window.

On the way home we ended up in a noodle bar in Beckenham. Typical.

Viva old school blogging!

Oh, and here's Important Historical Document (part 2); A truly dreadful performance of Adam and the Ants (when they used to be cool) doing their song "Plastic Surgery" - the studio recorded version is marvellous, but this is all I could find!
For those that are having trouble activating the embedded version, here's the link.
