I'm at a loss of what to write about, so it's back to posting guitar porn filler, hurrah! So what've we got here then? A Dean VMNT Dave Mustaine "Rust In Peace" special. Nice graphics, shame it isn't a Jackson.
Apologies for the lack of blogging action, I've had a dodgy eye, itchy leg and I'm still a Sudafed junkie. I'm also addressing the ongoing links widget problem (to the right of this blog) - if I've left any of you from the list by mistake, please pop by and burn my lug'ole about it. Time at the internet cafe is at a premium and although having net access at home is convenient, I don't want to end up a slave to it like I have in the past. This way I can prioritise what I need to do and be more efficient as opposed to logging on and having a six hour YouTube fest. Never again.
It's not all crap though. Donington is upon us once more and I for one can't chuffing wait for it. I'm also considering a trip to Ullapool for Britain's most remote festival and I'm toying with the idea of Cornbury (recently described by someone as a "boutique festival", ie; fit for all those Daily Express reading middle class suburbanites and their 2.4 children) but the only decent bands that are playing at the latter are The Damned and Joe Jackson so I'm not sure that the ticket price would be justified for just two good acts. Had I been a fan of the Sugababes on the other hand...

y'all really did cut the cord, sugar! wow, i can't get past that....impressive. i can't even book a hotel without making sure there's an internet connection! xoxoxo
(cheers!)
I've never tried a Jackson - Marco Pirroni has one in the collection..and ol name dropper me I'm meeting him tonight at The Wolfmen's studio. He's got a might collection of planks including Dave Hill's Super Yob.
Have a peep here
That is 'orrible. Still, one man's meat n' orl.
Trouble is, 'rock' took a bit of a hit with the Comic Strips Bad News and Spinal Tap... these kinda guitars always make me snigger now!
Totally unrelated to yer post darlin' - just wanted to say thanks for nuttin' over to my blog & leaving a comment. Any time you wanna slice the shawarma my end of the sandpit, let me know :-)
I see you're in Croydon - crikey, that brings back a few memories for me - hundreds of years ago & in another lifetime, I used to catch a bus from there to Norbury, to see a 21st Jewish Hells Angel!
*sigh*
Savvy - It's easier than you think, Sugar. If you don't depend on the internet then it remains a luxury, which is something that isn't needed in life. Is that too much perspective? X
Mondo - Jacksons have gorgeous necks, their 'shallow D' profile is just right for me, fast but not as flimsy in feel as an Ibanez wizard neck.
You're name dropping a quality person which is permissable. I recall reading an interview with Marco talking about Super Yob. Think he got it from a pawn shop in Birmingham.
Col - I know. It'd improve a thousandfold if it said "Jackson" on the headstock. Don't knock what you haven't tried.
Piley - Do you remember those Royal guitars by Kevin Chillcott? A superstrat painted bright yellow with large holes drilled in the body. It looked like a bit of cheese. Most metal guitars are very playable but they're not as cool as Les Pauls and Strats.
Jayne - Hello!
A Jewish Hell's Angel?!? I hope he had a kosher Hog...
Sorry, couldn't resist it and you've probably heard it many times before.
Croydon used to cater for bikers. A few pubs and The Cartoon was always a great place to see Dumpy's Rusty Nuts. There was a good classic rock band from the Hackbridge / Wallington area called April 16th who used to lay on coaches for their fans. Ah, wonderful memories.
I'm catching up with your defunct Harley blog. There's no excuse not to ride with that Middke Eastern sun you have. How's business in the Abu Dhabi gold souk these days?
. . . and back to (almost) a more 'fun dabi dozy' person to live with. §;-p xxx
p.s. . Em. . May be because Its called having 'a real (active) life' hun. . A life. Isnt it more fun and rewarding?
I agree with you, Chazza. In fact, the reason why it was pleasurable for me to abscond myself into the warm and welcoming bossom of the world wide web was because of your weirdo stalking tendencies, Ms Amy bleedin' Edwards.
Your physical ailments can all be traced to too much pot noodle.
You make me feel a tad sad - I'm too idle to go to gigs now and often dream of hot, mudless rockfests in days long ago before Led Zep was something that Robert did to get a bit of street cred so he could pair up with Alison Krauss :(
Lmfo. . .how much are the tickets. . Angel? Xxx
Phwoar - look at that - the guitar I mean. ;-)
MJ - Pot Noodles E additives have caused the scabby leg and now I'm wearing surgical stockings just like yours!
Kaz - The initial effort is steep as well as a gamble but I've been lucky. Tip: don't bother going to see The Groundhogs.
Romo - It's the red hair isn't it? Have you ever "worked" with Mustaine in the past? How's the little 'un by the way?
;-)
Dave Mustaine is clashing a bit with the guitar, what with all that orange hair.
I'm not a "metal axe" lover really... I have played a DM Dean last year. I was surprised at how big and fat the neck was, I was expecting a slim shreder type thing.
I don't like the headstock either just looks wrong.
The Middle Eastern sun is a bit of a bitch at this time of year - had a long ride out almost 2wks ago & had to pull over way too many times as the temp hit 52C. Needless to say, I was slightly scored around the edges!
I live less than 2 blocks from the gold souk - the bling business is still going pretty strong!
Joanne - Orange hair and blue guitar not good, eh? Why do ginger people wear lots of blue eyeshadow then? And they tend to wear a lot of green clothes to. Where's the fashion police when you need them?
Furtheron - As Col said, horses for courses. That Dean must've been odd, what with its fat neck - I suppose their MLs came before superstrats so fat neck must've been the fashion then.
Jayne - But at least you lived to tell the tale. Do you ever get sand in your engine?
Isti, I've noticed the ginger/green clothes happening a lot - always reminds me of leprechauns.
