A one time punk revival? I find it all a bit culturally confusing.
I saw this last week - was thinking of going but you know they'll be shit. Might get my new friend Captain to blag me a couple of tkts though!
DH - I know Dick. The term "one time" doesn't exactly mean what you think it does. At their age, what else can they possibly do? It's all they know.
RoMo - Good luck with the blagging. Do you think Captain will personally ask John for them?
CS: "Hello John, it's Captain. Remember me? That's right, from the Anarchy Tour. Listen, I was wondering if you had any spares for Brixton..?"
What would Lydon's reply be?
Well - do you think it will be two words - first beginning in f and ending in k and then second word beginning in o and ending ff! I nearly bought tickets last week but thought better of it. Of course - now I know they are sold out I really want to go!
So long as they don't start with F****** 'Silver Machine' again like at Crystal Palace. FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLS
Sting is a soggy old carcass I hear. Good to see Mr. Rotten still has his flair for publicity.
LONDON (Reuters) - Punk rock legends the Sex Pistols have added two more dates to their comeback tour after the first three gigs at London's Brixton Academy sold out in minutes.
The band, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols," had originally planned a single London appearance on November 8, but that was extended to three nights.
On Wednesday the group, which split in 1978 shortly before the death of bassist Sid Vicious, announced they would play a fourth concert in Brixton on November 12 and a fifth at Manchester's M.E.N. Arena on November 17.
The group played at Manchester's Lesser Free Trade Hall in 1976, an event described by the late music promoter Tony Wilson as "nothing short of an epiphany."
Tickets for the two extra shows go on sale at 9 a.m. (0800 GMT) on Friday, September 28, priced at 37.50 pounds.
sooooo, ya'll gonna go?
Interesting. If they start playing more arena type gigs then ticket prices will surely be reduced. Might be worth it for a London venue, but I can't see myself going to Manchester to see them.
Mind you, I've never been to Manchester before, so it might be a good enough reason to go just for the crack.
