Psychadelicatessen!

Depcast V2.5 presented by Brad DuMaurier (recently released from Sing-Sing) is available now!
*
All yer fave psychadelic songs gathered together in one 33 minute show. I couldn't be bothered to present this bollix 'cos I can't stand that "gogodancinginacagebullshit" kinda stuff. It bores me shitless - in fact, I'd rather have a migraine (OK, I'm lying there about the migraine preference).

Brad's an old musical aquaintance of mine from The Scorseses' days a few years ago. Well, they needed Mellotrons, Vox Continentals and Farfisas and I was the only mug that they could get hold of at the time who had the equipment that was required. Still, I managed to get a few 'trips' to the States out of it. It weren't such a bad cacophony that we made but unfortunately, the band ended up having a premature shelf-life due to guitarist Squire McQuire and drummer Paulie 'Boom-Boom' Junior being found frozen to death and hung up on meathooks in a refrigerator by a local meat vendor from New Jersey. As I didn't know them very well, I wasn't going to waste time grieving over this loss of life. Brad quickly got over it, but was pissed off that he wasn't going to get back the money that he lent to Paulie before he died. Bass player Vito Spaghetti is currently 'working' in his uncle's pizza parlour in Las Vegas.

Anyway, enough of my yacking. Click here and boogie!

pass the 'microdot' I'm feeling spacey!! that was good, I see you upped the sound quality as well? 128kb's it sounded a lot better, but there will always be a trade off won't there? I could use the 'american-Italian voice' for an idea that I have...hmmm

Now then Mr 'ski, I'm still having trouble downloading the depcasts. All that happens when I click save is that the link downloads and when played in my i-tunes, it plays from the jellycasters. Is this my settings or sommat else? As you know, what i know about commypewters could be written on the back of a very small piece of paper so i haven't a clue mate.

Same thing happens to me. Is it a PC > Mac ting?

is that 'save' or 'save target as' ??? 'save' is usually the link! and 'save target as' is the download.. ermm, I think?.. myself, I always listen 'live' as it were.

That Spinal Tap piece was delightful. Took me back to Height-Ashbury pre-Altamont. Things were just starting to get sleazy when I came along.

Yo Vanski! The Romo For Real 8 finally up and running.

Jif - Glad you liked it, mate. I compile everything first in wav. file format and then I convert it in Soundforge to mp3. There are so many different settings for quality within the options of that program when it comes to saving it as an mp3, I usually go for the highest setting (192kbps?), but if the quality was good in 128kbps, then I'll stick with that. Howesy is having trouble downloading it from the option window (see below), so how do you eat your Cadbury's Creme Egg? A 'live' listener!

Howesy - That makes two of us who don't know anyfink, mate.
I've never tried actually saving the download, but I shall try forf-wiff. I know it will stream to, say, Windows Media Player if you click on open...but that doesn't answer yer question, does it? Perhaps Swipe may have the technical know-how to remedy this situation? Or as Jif says 'save target as' may be worth a try.

DH - Glad you liked Tap. I was only saying to Howesy this morning that "They toured the world and they toured elsewhere..."

RoMo - I'm listening to #8 as I type...

Wank toss arse bum! Dep 1 was fine - dep 2 won't load at all.....can you make it how you made dep 1 - you seem to have changed something? Thanks awfully old chap.

I think that's where my confusion originated from when you said "I render it to the highest possible setting" the mp3 I have goes up to 328kb's something like that, and that is what I used with 'jellypants!!)

Howesy: that's what I do anytime I need to download (save target as) downloads to a selected file by you.

RoMo: what's up with your smegging Mac??

Can I just add to all the whingeing by saying that I listened to fifteen minutes' worth and then it just ... stopped.

Howesy said...

Save target as... no workey neither. If this carries on, will give up downloading things and invite Istvanski round for a cup of tea and a live performance, as long as that American guy is still around.

Yes - can I just e mail you my address and can you mail it to me like the old days with stamps and stuff? Or stuffit into a zip file and e mail me? Or shall I just shut up and go away? Jaze-arse - I'm boring myself now!

I can snail mail any depcasts to anyone should they so desire - a pristine copy on wav. file on a CD, preserving it's original 'kwality' as nature intended.

Also, I may try Switchpod again and I'll sort out any broken links by this weekend.

Howesy said...

Istvanski, was it you who was after Vic Godard info? I have some if it was, remind me when I see you.

Istvanski said...

RoMo - I believe that the links to the podcasts are now in good working order, although they are now different to what they previously were when I first put them up on Wellyblast.
I tried Switchpod again to no avail.

Howesy, I'll see you in a few hours time...

Yet another work of true genius. Absolutely brilliant. Scorcese's guitar solo ROCKED. Hilarious. You should send these to radio commissioners.

Howesy said...

Istvanski, don't worry about No.2 this A.M., they were lucky that they had top cover bloke to take care of it for you! Hope your head's better soon buddy.

rockmother said...

Oh dear - sounds like you've got head problems again - hope it clears up soon vanskier.

Apologies to you Howesy...I was being violently sick at 1:00am. I saw my GP the afternoon before and they didn't have the pills in stock at the pharmacy! The depot manager called me at home the next day to see how I was.
How thoughtful of him.

RoMo - glad ya liked it. That Scorseses solo goes nowhere except up it's own backside...cheesy and pointless, perhaps that's why it's so good?
Are you saying that your word verification was "Elain"? Har-har!

rockmother said...

Er - no! Actually my real name is an anagram of tardis as someone I used to work with so thoughtfully pointed out one day.

Istvanski said...

I've got to say that is a cool name also it's unusual too. The only other person who I knew of that had the same name as you was a medium/psychic who set up her own stall in Tooting Broadway market circa 1985.

I don't think it was her real name though. Her real name was probably something like Mavis Bickle.

rockmother said...

Well just in case you were wondering - it wasn't me! Although it might as well have been - I'm a dab hand at reading tarot cards and runestones. Perhaps I should incorporate readings into my podcasts - if I ever do anymore that is. I see a dark tunnel....there's music playing...it's very late.....and it's very hard to get to that light without getting grumpy and tired or having another glass of red wine. Oh shut up Mystic Meg!

Howesy said...

Ister, how nice of him to call you up! A caring empolyer, that's him.
Mavis Bickle, the fortune teller, I went to see her once, but the stall was closed, the sign said was "due to unforseen circumstances". Saved a couple of quid there then.

Istvanski said...

Howesy - ...and then the other day, I get a call from our new DSM!
Such a caring firm indeed.

They never seem to ring me up when I'm in the depths of depression though (ie; when Palace don't get promoted).

Did they give you a call when Allen buggered off?
