Celebrity hero or minge - you decide.
Yesterday as I was driving to work, a vehicle accident on the A3 forced me to take a diversion from my usual route to Strawberry Hill. I was driving up Teddington High Street when I noticed a film crew on one side of the road. Glancing across to the other side, I noticed that they were filming a scene starring celebrated charactor actor Trevor MacDoughnut - in the flesh!
It was only recently that I wondered what he had been up to, as he is not a frequent face that you see on the telly nowadays. Some people remember him from his early TV appearances on Tiswas (Saturday morning kiddies show).
The scene in Teddington was of MacDoughnut (pictured above) going towards his car, only to find a parking ticket plastered on his windscreen. He then chased after the traffic warden who had issued the parking ticket. That's all I managed to see as I was driving through on the way to work, so that I could catch the second half of the Brazil vs Ghana match.
When I got home, I entered MacDoughnut's name into "Wiked-pedia" (the online encyclopedia), and this brief biography of him came forth:
*
Trevor MacDoughnut (born late 70's, Dudley) British Entertainer. MacDoughnut cut his entertaining teeth as a Redcoat at Pontins holiday camp. He later appeared on Screwed Faces TV talent show impersonating white folk. He then impersonated white folk who impersonated black folk in The Black and White Minstrel Show, where he toured as a member for 5 years. He then co-hosted the children's entertainment programme Tiswas where he became a household name. He was much loved, endearing himself to the viewing public with a plethora of quirky characters, an example of one being Lenny Henry, Britain's unfunniest comedian.
Slowly but surely, MacDoughnut's televisual profile was exploited to the point of nausea. However, good scripts seemed to be thin on the ground and MacDoughnut ended up taking any TV jobs that were thrown at him. Many of these were offers of work for charity telethons such as Chronic Relief.
Television appearances were soon drying up. MacDoughnut's marraige was reported as being on the rocks and although he was an early riser, he was usually to be found up at the crack of Dawn until he cheated on her. News of his infidelity spread through the media like wild-fire, forcing an ever depressed MacDoughnut to seek solace in his dangerous addiction to McDonald's milkshakes.
Lonely, homeless, financially potless and severely out of touch, MacDoughnut was offered a "bit-part" in a pornographic homage to Tiswas. Entitled Pisswas: Revenge of the Fantom Flange Flinger (2003, directed by Chris Tarrant-ino), the film suffered at the box office as it soon "ran out of steam" as a film, although it was rumoured that Spit the Dog and Sally James took an interest.
MacDoughnut currently resides as a recluse, living on "de bread and condensed milk" and has no immediate plans for good television.
